Last Chance to Apply: Landlord Compensation Fund

| June 23, 2021

Landlord Compensation FundOregon Housing and Community Services has extended the deadline for the final round of the Landlord Compensation Fund (LCF) until June 23 at 11:59pm. Under the recently passed SB 278, which has passed the Oregon House, landlords whose applications are accepted will be able to receive 100% of unpaid rent through the LCF rather than 80%.

At least $60 million in assistance for covering rent-owed by eligible tenants from April 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021 was made available with round three of the LCF, which opened on June 1. The Landlord Compensation Fund Program provides relief to residential landlords who have been unable to collect tenant rent due to tenant financial hardships. Landlords can directly apply for these resources through an online application portal. Landlords whose applications are accepted and awarded will receive 80% of unpaid rent they are owed by qualified tenants from April 2020 through the application period. They will be required to forgive the remaining 20% of unpaid rent.
