The Executive Committee (EC) oversees the critical operations of the association, focusing on budget, governance, advocacy, and membership.

Oregon REALTORS® has had dedicated volunteer leaders since 1932. Our officers, directors, and committee members shape the policies and priorities that guide the Association.
The Executive Committee (EC) oversees the critical operations of the association, focusing on budget, governance, advocacy, and membership.

The Board of Directors connects the state to local associations. Local Associations from across Oregon receive Board allocations depending on their size. Each local elects Board members who meet twice a year in person to debate, discuss, and vote on the Association’s business. Directors are also responsible for conveying the information shared at Board Meetings to their Local Associations and others in their area.
State Director Liaisons (SDLs) serve as key conduits for engagement and two-way communication between Local Associations and the Oregon REALTORS® Executive Committee. SDLs must be State Directors. Each local association is required to have one SDL, with the exception of the Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTORS®, which may have four, and the Cascades East Association of REALTORS®, which may have two. If a Local Association has only one State Director, that individual shall also serve as the SDL. The selection process and length of service for SDLs are determined at the discretion of each local association.
The elective year is from the first day after the last day of NAR Convention (usually around Veteran’s Day in November) to the last day of NAR Convention the following year.

The President position is not normally elected as it is an ascension from the elected President-Elect position.

First Vice-President

District Vice-Presidents are elected by the Board of Directors each Fall and begin service in November that year. The District Vice-President role is being phased out for a new, approved structure that begins in November, 2026.
Governance Roles for Fall, 2026
In Fall, 2025, the Board of Directors approved a governance structure change that sunsets the District Vice President role and introduces four Vice Presidents and four elected Vice-Presidents Elect, as well as an elected Treasurer. These changes take effect after NAR meetings in November, 2026.

The State Association is governed by documents that detail the structure of the organization and policies to serve members. You’ll find them on our Bylaws & Policies page.
Key Committees, Special Committees, Work Groups and Task Forces work continually on behalf of the membership to achieve the Association’s objectives as approved in the strategic plan. Committee assignments are made every year in early September by the leadership team with input from staff. At least 1/3 of the existing members of key committees shall be reappointed in each successive year.
