For Austen Anderson, real estate provides the opportunity to solve complex problems while building a business centered on integrity and client service. After entering the industry in 2016 and transitioning to full-time sales in 2020, Austen found a profession that rewards continuous learning and adaptability. As a broker with Engel & Völkers Bend/Sisters, he has built his career on putting clients’ best interests first and approaching every transaction with professionalism.

Austen has become an active leader within Oregon REALTORS®, serving on the Professional Standards Committee and Safety Committee since 2024. In 2026, he expanded his involvement by joining the Business Issues Key Committee while continuing his work on both existing committees. He is also a graduate of the 2024 Oregon REALTORS® Leadership Academy. Beyond his committee service, Austen is a licensed Principal Broker in Oregon, holds equivalent broker licenses in Washington and Florida, and is also a licensed loan officer.

When asked what advice he would give someone starting out in real estate, Austen doesn’t hesitate: “Your reputation is more important than a commission.” He believes integrity should guide every decision, always putting clients first while remembering that success is built over time. He also encourages new agents to take care of themselves, noting that burnout is common in the industry and that it’s okay to unplug after a busy transaction.

Outside of real estate, Austen is an avid automotive enthusiast with a particular appreciation for German engineering. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him traveling—spending time with family in Montana, exploring new barbecue spots in Texas, or enjoying exceptional cars. His bucket list has become surprisingly short, with one dream still remaining: owning or leasing a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet.

One of the biggest turning points in Austen’s career came through his involvement with Oregon REALTORS®. Before participating in the 2024 Leadership Academy, he admits he viewed REALTOR® association dues as simply another business expense. The experience completely changed his perspective, giving him a deeper appreciation for the advocacy, leadership development and industry support provided by the association. Nearly two years later, he still keeps in touch with his Leadership Academy classmates, and he now encourages every broker looking to grow beyond simply selling homes to get involved.

“I went into the Oregon REALTORS® Leadership Academy skeptical. I was wrong. It completely changed my perspective on the value of our association, and I recommend it to any broker who wants to grow beyond just selling homes.”
