What’s the difference between Oregon REALTORS^® and the Oregon Real Estate Agency?

The Oregon Real Estate Agency (OREAA) is a state agency tasked with the licensing and rule-making for all things real estate-related.

Oregon REALTORS^® is the state-level association of the National Association of REALTORS^® (NAR). We are a trade association representing more than 17,000 members involved in all aspects of the real estate profession.

Can I sell real estate without being a REALTOR?

To sell real estate in Oregon, you are required to hold a current real estate license from the Oregon Real Estate Agency. A REALTOR^® is a licensed real estate broker who has joined the National Association of REALTORS^® (and appropriate state and local associations). The word REALTOR^® is a licensed trademark for use only by our members.
