Code of Ethics – NAR Requirement
Current biennial: Jan. 1, 2017 – Dec. 31, 2018
As a member, you ascribe to the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics. The NAR Code of Ethics is the standard to which all REALTORS® are held and keeps REALTORS® a step above a real estate licensee. The Code of Ethics is part of the REALTOR® brand.
As such, NAR requires all members to complete a 2.5 hour (minimum) Code of Ethics training every two years to maintain membership. The next completion deadline is December 31, 2018.
Check to see if you’ve completed the course in this biennial by clicking on the “View My Education Records” link here.
If you still need to take the Code of Ethics course, you have several different options:
- Online
- CE: “Cracking the Code of Ethics” offered through OAR & The CE Shop*
- Non-CE: “REALTORS® Code of Ethics Training” offer through NAR
- Live
- OAR, local association/boards, and other providers periodically offer this course in various locations across the State. Check out the calendar or check with your local board/association to find a class near you.
*Please note: if you complete the “Cracking the Code of Ethics” course with The CE Shop, you will need to submit your CE certificate to your Local Association/Board to receive the official Code of Ethics credit with NAR.
